This temporary warm weather brought a Robin flying north over the Pinery Provincial Park on 20th. On the 21st. a lone Herring Gull flew up the lake.(Huron) Locally our Horned Larks were in singles and pairs along N. Lambton roadsides on Feb 7th. Other wintering birds locally in area are- Red-headed Woodpeckers in the Pinery. White-crowned Sparrow and Brown Thrasher in Hungry Hollow and at our house a Carolina Wren survived and is singing from the TV. tower. The Tufted Titmouse is increasing it's population dramatically here. For those who would like to have one take sunflower seeds from the hand, go to the Pinery, picnic area #9. Park at the nearest picnic table and hold out the offering. Take a camera to record the event. Weekdays are best because fewer visitors feed them and the Chickadees.
