Yesterday, Thursday Feb 20, I was standing on county road 45 in Elgin county
near the hamlet of Calton, southeast of Aylmer. I was on the bridge crossing
Big Otter Creek when I looked up and saw an immature Golden Eagle
flying/soaring northward. Two of us had a great look at it for about two-three
minutes until it rose and got further away to the north. Beautiful underside
views as it almost went directly overhead.

Also saw 2 Red-shouldered Hawks in the area.

to get to this location, exit hwy 401 at hwy73 south to Aylmer. Go thru Aylmer
continuing south. Turn left on number 45 east towards calton. A jog in the
road occurs at road 40, continue east on 45 at Mt. Salem. The road goes thru
the tiny hamlet of Calton and then down a large hill into the Big Otter River
valley and the bridge where the sighting was.
