This past Friday afternoon there were 2 Red-tailed Hawks sitting in adjoining fir trees on Fallowfield Rd between Prince of Wales and Merivale Rd. The trees are on the north side of Fallowfield and the birds were at the same level, maybe 30 or 40 meters apart. Spring?????
I also saw a Northern Shrike off the south side of the bridge at Hunt Club Rd. This is the 3rd time in a month of seeing a Northern Shrike in this area. Both Fallowfield Rd and Hunt Club Rds can be accessed from the 416 to the west, or from Riverside(off the 417) to the east.
