Unfortunately, I've never succeeded in reproducing this problem.  If
possible, can I see your test configuration (including named.conf and
query data)?

Also, just out of curiosity (I actually don't think this matters), do
you see the same problem if you build named by hand, not from FreeBSD
ports?
