Sometimes the best help you can get is a slap and an explanation why 
you got it. You might not like it at the moment, but it can help you 
get the kind of attention you desire later. If you don't stop 
listening.

If you find an answer ambiguous ask for clarification! It's not 
always possible assess the knowledge of the other party correctly and 
be exactly as detailed as necessary without wasting the time and 
boring the recipient with an overdetailed response. And I don't see 
what has got the ad to do with things. Except the fact that Randal 
actually does have hands on experience teaching Perl.
