Exactly! I think the main point of all of these replies is to let this die and if there are still issues then go else where. My main point was that this is a perl list, for help with perl. I agree that flame wars are pointless but I can't sit by and let somebody trash our stuff.
No you can't ask any questions to me on this list, if you must, do it in private but as far as I'm concerned I don't have time to debate this. I saw a link in one of the other replies to a place you can go and debate all you want. I don't care how many vb users there are or anything else. All I care about is that no body trash perl on a perl mailing list just for the sake of trashing. Sorry if I wasted anyone's time, was off topic, or otherwise affended you. Hope all have a super day. Not to get too far off on a tangent, but I think the '1000\'s of users' he was referring to were the mailing list users. In any case, the point remains the same. Why bother proclaiming your dislike of a language on a list full of thousands of people using the language is not likely to accomplish anything more than another 'is not! is too!' kind of shouting match that noone really wants (but noone wants to lose). On the other hand, Rob, if you have a specific problem that you are having creating a complicated data structure in Perl, it would be a good topic for a SEPARATE thread(this one should probably just die now, not with a bang but with a whimper). I would be interested in finding out what you had trouble with before I end up running into the same thing. -----Original Message----- From: david [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, January 03, 2003 4:20 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Why Perl kicks but! >>> Can I ask you a few questions?
