Seems right. I am aware of the Pissing-Off-Potential of this growing(?)
situation. Hehe, but it is all too fun, and to stand down and let them
be...well it wouldn't be right. Besides, there are ways to tell people that
the world isn't flat without getting yourself killed.

So to update the list on the issue...and brother Romani:
I contacted and got a reply from Dr. Tim Maher, the resident Perl Guru on
the U.W. advisory board (Tim, sorry to quote you without your
permission...but you don't seem the "suing" type) this is what he had to
say:

Jon,

I just noticed your plight on the beginners-digest earlier today, and
was as shocked as you. I will see what I can do to straighten this out
for you, and to educate the "Cobol Proponent" guy about Perl not being
"just a scripting language".

I recognize your name; haven't we met? Maybe at a SPUG meeting?

Anyway, hang on and let me see what I can do about your situation.

See, you just go up to the Scariest looking bastard in the joint and ask him
to tell everyone that the world IS FLAT. Almost no chance of death.
Lot's of influential people watching this list...

Jon

P.S. if you are in the Seattle area and need training in Perl and related
"things" do a search on Tim Maher.
