Reviews
Keith
Cascade Failure by L.M. Sagas. Quotes on the back compare it to Firefly.
Despite plot/charater differences, is apt comparison. Pretty good story.
Disappointed at the end about two equally bad options are the only offered.
Overall worth getting from the library. Appears to be part of a series.
Rani: Read it together. Character reminds her of Jet Reno from ST: Disco.
Cliff: Volume two (Gravity Lost) is recently out (and is purple, which is pink)
Lisa
Went to MythCon (Mythopedic bi-annual conference) Great fun. Serious literary
conference. This year in Minneapolis, so theme was the middle of things. Had a
great time. Next in Oklahoma City in 2 years. Worth everything but the crappy
flight home.
Kennita
Went to see Harold and the Purple Crayon. Not very deep or complicated. Artwork
and cinematorgaphy and effects are well done. About imagination. Characters
were cute. Worth matinee.
Lisa: Got the books for young Harold when they came out!
Valerie
Went to WorldCon virtually. Been to many crummy hybrid cons, so was concerned
about being a panelist virtually. It was well produced from a participant
perspective.

Cliff:
Music: Went to the KFJC LAP on Saturday. And felt appreciated. Then went to SJ
Jazz Fest and saw Herbie Hancock: If you ever have a chance to see him live –
DO IT! Also there was Shamar Allen, NO trumpeter, who was really good. Did a
Nirvana cover!
Still watching Wednesday. Will be able to review next week.
In a speculative fiction club at Books Inc, Mt View. Rivers of London by Ben
Aaronovich (who’s done some classic Doctor Who). Police procedural in modern
London with supernatural elements. Fun book.
Talia:
School stated. No classes with her best friend.
Been reading School-bus Graveyard, a comic series that she’s been copying the
art style of.
Rumor of the Week:
Percy’s id is at its height tonight.
Adjourned at: 20:50
