Indeed, there was another script in the computer messing up the timestamps, the 
timestamps shown with "ls -l" were all different and correct, timestamps shown 
with "ls -lc" were indeed all the same.

Thanks for your help, "ls -c" was the clue I was missing!

I'm not certain. I'm sure it's in the documentation. However, if "ls -c"
shows all the same timestamp, I'd think that this has something to do
with it.
