Hello - I have just installed Bacula 2.2.8 from RPMs downloaded from SourceForge on Fedora 8. The Fedora 8 install is completely fresh and updated. The RPMs I installed are as follows:
bacula-mysql-2.2.8-1.fc8.i386.rpm bacula-bat-2.2.8-1.fc8.i386.rpm bacula-updatedb-2.2.8-1.i386.rpm bacula-mtx-2.2.8-1.fc8.i386.rpm bacula-wxconsole-2.2.8-1.fc8.i386.rpm rpmkey-bacula-0.1-3.noarch.rpm bacula-gconsole-2.2.8-1.fc8.i386.rpm The installs went without error, DB was created successfully and populated. Per the instructions the first thing I attempted to do before starting anything Bacula for the first time was to run the btape utility. The command I ran and the errors/output that ensued are listed below: [EMAIL PROTECTED] BaculaFiles]# /usr/sbin/btape autochanger Tape block granularity is 1024 bytes. *** buffer overflow detected ***: /usr/sbin/btape terminated ======= Backtrace: ========= /lib/libc.so.6(__fortify_fail+0x48)[0x264b58] /lib/libc.so.6[0x263200] /usr/sbin/btape[0x8092536] /usr/sbin/btape[0x804f3de] /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xe0)[0x191390] /usr/sbin/btape[0x804beb1] ======= Memory map: ======== 00110000-00111000 r-xp 00110000 00:00 0 [vdso] 00111000-00113000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 49285 /lib/libcom_err.so.2.1 00113000-00114000 rwxp 00001000 fd:00 49285 /lib/libcom_err.so.2.1 0015c000-00177000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 51522 /lib/ld-2.7.so 00177000-00178000 r-xp 0001a000 fd:00 51522 /lib/ld-2.7.so 00178000-00179000 rwxp 0001b000 fd:00 51522 /lib/ld-2.7.so 0017b000-002ce000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 51559 /lib/libc-2.7.so 002ce000-002d0000 r-xp 00153000 fd:00 51559 /lib/libc-2.7.so 002d0000-002d1000 rwxp 00155000 fd:00 51559 /lib/libc-2.7.so 002d1000-002d4000 rwxp 002d1000 00:00 0 002d6000-002d9000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 51560 /lib/libdl-2.7.so 002d9000-002da000 r-xp 00002000 fd:00 51560 /lib/libdl-2.7.so 002da000-002db000 rwxp 00003000 fd:00 51560 /lib/libdl-2.7.so 002dd000-00304000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 51562 /lib/libm-2.7.so 00304000-00305000 r-xp 00026000 fd:00 51562 /lib/libm-2.7.so 00305000-00306000 rwxp 00027000 fd:00 51562 /lib/libm-2.7.so 00308000-0031d000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 51564 /lib/libpthread-2.7.so 0031d000-0031e000 r-xp 00014000 fd:00 51564 /lib/libpthread-2.7.so 0031e000-0031f000 rwxp 00015000 fd:00 51564 /lib/libpthread-2.7.so 0031f000-00321000 rwxp 0031f000 00:00 0 003ef000-00401000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 51570 /lib/libz.so.1.2.3 00401000-00402000 rwxp 00011000 fd:00 51570 /lib/libz.so.1.2.3 00d0c000-00d25000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 51561 /lib/libselinux.so.1 00d25000-00d27000 rwxp 00018000 fd:00 51561 /lib/libselinux.so.1 00d94000-00da4000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 51581 /lib/libresolv-2.7.so 00da4000-00da5000 r-xp 00010000 fd:00 51581 /lib/libresolv-2.7.so 00da5000-00da6000 rwxp 00011000 fd:00 51581 /lib/libresolv-2.7.so 00da6000-00da8000 rwxp 00da6000 00:00 0 00dfb000-00dfd000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 51580 /lib/libkeyutils-1.2.so 00dfd000-00dfe000 rwxp 00001000 fd:00 51580 /lib/libkeyutils-1.2.so 0399b000-039c0000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 94075 /usr/lib/libk5crypto.so.3.1 039c0000-039c1000 rwxp 00025000 fd:00 94075 /usr/lib/libk5crypto.so.3.1 039e7000-03a28000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 51584 /lib/libssl.so.0.9.8b 03a28000-03a2c000 rwxp 00040000 fd:00 51584 /lib/libssl.so.0.9.8b 03a87000-03ab4000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 94077 /usr/lib/libgssapi_krb5.so.2.2 03ab4000-03ab5000 rwxp 0002d000 fd:00 94077 /usr/lib/libgssapi_krb5.so.2.2 03ac4000-03acc000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 94074 /usr/lib/libkrb5support.so.0.1 03acc000-03acd000 rwxp 00007000 fd:00 94074 /usr/lib/libkrb5support.so.0.1 03acf000-03bec000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 51583 /lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8b 03bec000-03bfe000 rwxp 0011d000 fd:00 51583 /lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8b 03bfe000-03c02000 rwxp 03bfe000 00:00 0 03c04000-03c94000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 94076 /usr/lib/libkrb5.so.3.3 03c94000-03c97000 rwxp 0008f000 fd:00 94076 /usr/lib/libkrb5.so.3.3 04181000-0418c000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 51563 /lib/libgcc_s-4.1.2-20070925.so.1 0418c000-0418d000 rwxp 0000a000 fd:00 51563 /lib/libgcc_s-4.1.2-20070925.so.1 0418f000-0426f000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 93751 /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.8 0426f000-04273000 r-xp 000df000 fd:00 93751 /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.8 04273000-04274000 rwxp 000e3000 fd:00 93751 /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.8 04274000-0427a000 rwxp 04274000 00:00 0 08048000-080b7000 r-xp 00000000 fd:00 88802 /usr/sbin/btape 080b7000-080ba000 rw-p 0006e000 fd:00 88802 /usr/sbin/btape 080ba000-080d3000 rw-p 080ba000 00:00 0 0983d000-0985e000 rw-p 0983d000 00:00 0 b7dd5000-b7fd5000 r--p 00000000 fd:00 83028 /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive b7fd5000-b7fda000 rw-p b7fd5000 00:00 0 b7fe5000-b7fe7000 rw-p b7fe5000 00:00 0 bf911000-bf926000 rw-p bffea000 00:00 0 [stack] 28-Jan 16:03 btape: Fatal Error because: Bacula interrupted by signal 6: IOT trap Kaboom! btape, btape got signal 6 - IOT trap. Any help anyone can give me would be immensely appreciated. I have tried to google around and search the lists,etc., but have not found a solid answer to this one yet.
