It would be useful if you can figure out how/when it happened too (e.g. if you
have a bad tape).
It would; the fact that someone managed to knock the cable to the library loose may have had something to do with it, but I'm not certain; it wouldn't really account for two tapes being in error. Both tapes are in the same pool though, which only services a single client; one which is on the other side of a flakey connection, could have some impact, I guess.

I'll check both the tapes for errors though.
