Depends on your definition of "in use". If the system has the file locked for writing, you'll have to enable VSS to get a backup of it while it's write locked. If the application has it open read-only, you'll get a good backup either way. On the flip side, I've been using VSS to back up Windows workstations for a few months now with no problems, and all files are able to be backed up no matter how they're opened. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
