The ideal test case is to write a Bacula regression script.  Once that is 
done, it is easy to fix the bug, and we can be sure it will not come back.

Bacula regression scripts are not really hard to write, and the advantage is 
that they are "portable" in that they run in their own little sandbox and so 
I can run them on Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris ...
