I'm sorry, I do not understand these two sentences at all. > I have just ONE client to make a backup... OK. > I just change the "Maximum Volume Jobs = 2" to "Maximum Volume Jobs = 1", > because I think that the "Maximum Volume Jobs" directive means how many tapes > is using to each job. Or I wrong about this?!?!? No, you have that completely backwards. "Maximum Volume Jobs" does not mean how many tapes can be used for a Job. "Maximum Volume Jobs" means how many JOBS can be written to a TAPE. There are very few even remotely normal backup configurations in which you will EVER need to use "Maximum Volume Jobs". > Volume Use Duration = 14d > Volume Retention = 14d > > So, my Pool is here: > > Pool { > Name = Noturno > Pool Type = Backup > Recycle = yes > AutoPrune = yes > Volume Use Duration = 14d > Volume Retention = 14d > Accept Any Volume = yes > Maximum Volume Jobs = 1 > } > > Pool { > Name = Noturno- > Pool Type = Backup > Recycle = yes > AutoPrune = yes > Volume Use Duration = 14d > Volume Retention = 14d > Accept Any Volume = yes > Maximum Volume Jobs = 1 > } No. If you set volume use duration = 14 days, each tape will remain writeable for two weeks; you want it to remain writeable for one week. In any case, though, Maximum Volume Jobs will override that; the tape will be marked Used after one backup job. Again, any configuration in which you use both Volume Use Duration and Maximum Volume Jobs, *and need both of those*, is so unlikely that it's almost certainly wrong. -- Phil Stracchino [EMAIL PROTECTED] Renaissance Man, Unix generalist, Perl hacker Mobile: 603-216-7037 Landline: 603-886-3518 ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is Sponsored by the Better Software Conference & EXPO September 19-22, 2005 * San Francisco, CA * Development Lifecycle Practices Agile & Plan-Driven Development * Managing Projects & Teams * Testing & QA Security * Process Improvement & Measurement * http://www.sqe.com/bsce5sf _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users
