Which suggests that an alternative way >of showing it would be to borrow an idea from mobiles and call "offline >mode" "airplane mode", with an aeroplane icon. Offline = not connected Airplane mode = Powered off Not the same thing. My Android has no icon at all when wifi isn't connected.
