I for one am against releasing anything called "Autoconf 2.50"
before Autoconf 2.14 through 2.49 has been released. Linux does
the same stupid thing, suddenly jumping to minor release numbers
at 99 before a new major release. Noone has said you should
go from minor versions 0 to 100 between each new major release,
so why do people insist on doing it?

Let's call it 2.14 (or 2.15 on account of the 2.14.1 incident)
or 3.0 (if it doesn't seem like "minor release" is the correct
term, the alternative is to call it a "major release").
