Boy, this is funny. While this whole --host flame was raging, I came across this note on the mingw mailing list. This is just further proof that new users do not understand the old cross compile semantics and that the docs don't help much. Mo DeJong Red Hat Inc <SNIP> Hi All, I noticed the other day that some kind soul has ported the mingw environment to FreeBSD. This is awesome. However, I'm not sure I understand how to build win32 programs from FreeBSD. I know that when I want to build something on a windows box, I type g++ -o test.exe test.cpp -mwindows to get a windows app. How would I do this in unix? Would I have to use --target=???? If so, what would the target equal? /mtb <SNIP>
