Where can we see that?  What effect can it have so that you might need
to check for it?  How to you cure this?

I don't know wchar_t too well, but I'm very sad to learn that even for
very recent designs, we still face the same old mistakes.  It's like
seeing the 70's shaking hands with the 2000's.
