The latest automake (off of cvs) doesn't yet handle the
AC_CONFIG_FILES()/AC_OUTPUT split. This is only an autoconf warning now,
but it means that automake is not user-releasable yet. (Unless you guys
want to be bombarded with tons of similar questions.)

Automake also doesn't handle the --build-dir option, which is expected by
"make dist" in autoconf.

The above problems are what I've noticed. It means to me that the two
systems are out of sync as of now. This means that more features would have
to be added/implemented in one place or another. Until that happens, we
cannot declare a feature-freeze. Once a freeze is declared, and we only fix
bugs, it would be a good time for me to run make test on autoconf/automake,
using all of my systems, as well as test it "for real" in my own
application.

Thanks,
Erez.
