Some of the figures in our documents have been done using OOo's
drawing tools to overlay circles and callouts etc on screenshots

This means that when the ODT files are converted into something
else (HTML, for example), the drawing objects get separated from
the screenshots. Obvious this causes problems when repurposing
the documents, because the figures need to be redone so that all
components are part of one file (preferably PNG).

I am doing some of them as I come across them, and I'm sure Peter

you'd like to take responsibility for finding and fixing all the
problem figures? :-)

Hello Jean,

If I may add something, the text boxes and callouts also create a bit of a
mess when translating the documents in other languages using the fabulous
OmegaT and I guess other Computer Aided Translation software.
I really support the idea of having the pictures being self-contained.
I might offer some help, but we are in a situation where 90% of the
screenshots have been taken using the silver theme of WinXP and this is not
my default OS.

Cheers,

Michele
