Guys,

There are some pretty good songs out there besides ARR in the bollywood
belt......listen to some of the tunes from Aashayein (Salim Suleiman), We Are
Family (SEL - some nice soft piano based ballads and a soothing theme
instrumental), Peepli Live (Indian Ocean...very folkish tunes), Lafangey
Parindey (Music by Anand but directed by Pradeep Sarkar....rock heavy album).
Of course, Amit Trivedi's Aisha has some good tunes if you like his kind of
music and sound. Nothing pathbreaking, but some nice sounds and arrangements
and melodies...pleasant hearing.

I kind of feel that the rock sound is in fashion mode these days in film music
albums as lots of distorted and electric guitars are being used....some
tastefully, some not....even ARR has used them more recently......

But, I love how ARR has used the guitars in VTV, Puli, Raavan...very sparingly
and delicately without overpowering one's senses! I didn't like the distorted,
heavy rock guitar sounds much in Enthiran, but loved the acoustic guitars in
Kaadhal Anukal!!

Honestly, I listen to other film albums.by other MDs.......try to give the
music a chance......feel pleasant and soothed when listening to them.....but
nobody touches deep into the heart and soul like ARR's music does.....

ARR is simply in a league of his own.......
