Dianne, there's another way to look at this. I don't think it is as much a matter of entitlement, as investment. People are emotionally and financially invested in the success of the Android platform -- as are you!
A lot of what you see isn't so much "I am entitled to X", as "Android really needs X". It still boils down to unreasonable demands on the Android team, but a lot of the time, the motivations are more of a matter of rooting -- urgently -- for your success. And I think it's natural that the weakest links in that success come in for the greatest heat. Most would agree that the weakest link -- and arguably the most important -- has been the market, which went for a very long time without any notable improvement -- and notably, without any public communication of the type you provide for the platform itself. I think the Market folks need to seek out and hire a "Dianne Marketborn". I know they've been making new efforts and progress, but connecting them better to their developer community would pay off. But even so, you'll always have impassioned people urgently wanting you all to do even more. But think about it -- what's the alternative? A community that doesn't care what you do? Ultimately, this situation is a mark of, and measure of, your success. On Thursday, May 12, 2011 7:40:34 PM UTC-7, Dianne Hackborn wrote: > > It's not just about me posting to this group.
