Thanks again, James.
While that may be the most likely issue, I know that it is not. I can
reboot into Windows (boo, hisss!) without changing a thing with my
speaker setup and 5.1 works just fine. Also as I said before I get
output from my sub with speaker-test, it's just on all channels
(except when it tests Center and LFE which have NO output). So when it
tests FR, FL, BR, BL I can hear the low freq going to the sub, but it
shouldn't be. It acts like it's in 4.0 mode all the time.
