With ac97_quirk you might have 'Master' and 'Headphone' controls. Please,
try set both.
I can't find that ?? Master is ok, but has no effect at all... but
Headphone... I only have something named "Phone" :
amixer get Phone

The thing which makes me surprised w/ Phone is "Front Left/Right"... so
I don't think this is what you've told me to set.
So I'm always having sound only on rear speakers and only when I enable
"Duplicate front". :c/
