Gentoo upgraded Alsa in this kernel to 1.0.0rc2 and now the Alsa.org patches don't work at all. I wish the Gentoo emerge for Alsa was smart enough to handle placing the newest releases in the right place for 2.6 kernels, but they don't, so many of us are stuck. It would be great if someone someday could provide a script that would take a CVS download directory and place all the pieces in the right location under /usr/src/linux. That way we would be able to do something with an Alsa developers says 'Try this patch please'.
