Hi Ian, I've got a similar problem with my setup: 9000 IGP, IXP 150 and a realtek ac97 sound chip. I also figured out, that the AC97 codec is an extra chip attached to the IXP150 (in my case the realtek codec). I also found out that every AC97-sound chip can actually be (at least theoretically) driven by one and the same AC97-driver (since the interface is the same).
The big question is: "how do we get the AC97-interface of the IXP-chip up and runing?" I already sent an email to ATI asking for programming information (on the 13th of December, 2003). They've not replied yet (maybe b'cos of christmas duties....). I hope they reply and show that they're still interested in promoting their products in the Linux-field. Have you tried Clemens suggestion of adding the PCI-ID to intel8x0.c yet (that could only work, if the register adresses are actually the same as the intel ones...)? Please give us all a feedback on this. Thanks. Regards, Alexander ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials.
