Hei!

I'm having similar troubles with my CS46xx. Just a bit worst, I do not have sound in my rear speakers (but they work if I try something like:aplay -D test.wav pcm.rear). Can you give me some advice on how to get the rear speakers working normally?

Thanks,

I'm afraid I can't answer you, and I've tried at least 6 times, on
alsa-user and alsa-dev lists, and I have never gotten any response for
my problem (its similar, or at least includes the problem you're
having).

Yep, I noticed your desperate posts too :)

I get front sound, rear sound, center/lfe sound, but only
seperately, not combined. Likewise, the surround 40 and 51 configs
don't help either. If you get lucky, and someone replies to you (I'll
keep an eye on the list for a reply to your message), and fixes the
problems you're having, would you mind letting me know :o

It's a deal.

Although it seems like I remember that with your card, the surround
settings are controlled by the Headphone mixer? I don't know myself,
but it seems that I've heard that from other people (people trying to
help me, but since I have a different card, the mixer is *completely*
different).

Good luck :)

I hope you don't mind I've cc-ed your reply to the list. Maybe when the
CC46xx maintainer notices that there are more people with this problem
he'll come up with some answer.

About the controls for the surround settings: The rear speakers are
controlled with the Surround mixer and not the headphones, but thanks
anyway.
