Yet another surround prob. I've searched the list a thousand times but am obviously
missing something here...

'aplay -D pcm.surround40 test.wav' gives me "Playing WAVE
'test.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100
Hz, Stereo
aplay: set_params:814: Channels count non available

When I try 'aplay -D pcm.rear test.wav' it works fine. 'aplay -D
plug:surround40 test.wav' too, but I only get sound from the front.

Is there something wrong with my CS46xx.conf? I haven't changed it.

Don't know if this is important, but when I fire up alsaplayer it tells
me "Failed to load output plugin "alsa". Trying defaults."

I'm using a Hercules Game Theather XP and the .debs from Debian Sid. If
you need additional info, please let me know.

Also, when this is fixed I like to use all four speakers in all apps. Is
there an example .asoundrc for this?

Can anyone help me out here? I'm trying to solve this since ages know.
Thanxs,
Frank
