Yet another surround prob. I've searched the list a thousand times but am obviously missing something here...
'aplay -D pcm.surround40 test.wav' gives me "Playing WAVE 'test.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo aplay: set_params:814: Channels count non available When I try 'aplay -D pcm.rear test.wav' it works fine. 'aplay -D plug:surround40 test.wav' too, but I only get sound from the front. Is there something wrong with my CS46xx.conf? I haven't changed it. Don't know if this is important, but when I fire up alsaplayer it tells me "Failed to load output plugin "alsa". Trying defaults." I'm using a Hercules Game Theather XP and the .debs from Debian Sid. If you need additional info, please let me know. Also, when this is fixed I like to use all four speakers in all apps. Is there an example .asoundrc for this? Can anyone help me out here? I'm trying to solve this since ages know.
