I'm trying to understand a few basics about the content of /etc/modules.conf (this is not my complete file):
alias char-major-116 snd alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss options snd snd_major=116 snd_cards_limit=5 alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0 option snd-intel8x0 snd_index=0 alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0 What *exactly* does each line do? Which words are reserved/magic and which are arbitrary strings? I'm esp. wondering about snd-card-0, sound-slot-0 and sound-service-0-3...
