Hi all, I'm running Debian Woody with alsa 0.9 beta12. I use the snd-emu10k1 module. Evertyhing is hunky dory, I can listen to CD's, and various sound files through XMMS.
I have a problem with Helix Producer 9.0.1 (formerly RealProducer). I'm streaming to a local file, and the resulting .rm file is awful when played back, irrespective of bitrate. Full of clicks, odd phase noises, and irregular speed. I can record ok with grecord, so obviously that points to a Helix problem. However, I'm not too familiar with alsa yet, and was wondering if there's anything I could try and if this is a known issue. My mixer settings are CD set to capture, 100%, and the capture slider set to 100%. I must confess that I'm not exactly sure what the capture slider is for. I've tried it with the OSS drivers, and it just segfaults. :| Plus I want to stick with alsa to get muse up and running at some point. If someone can tell me what debug would be useful, I can post it.
