OK, I know I have asked this question before, but so far I have had absolutely no response. I am running rc3 now, but same was true on the last 5 versions... I can play mono files with aplay, and also mp3 with mpg123 and MIDI with timidity, but when I play a (say) 4min stereo file I get 4mins of silence. If i use play (relying on OSS emulation I believe) I get stereo, but it breaks up frequently. I am attempting to play to the S/PDIF. Could some one please tell me what runes to incant, what argument to give to -D or who to sacrifice? ==John ffitch
