The patch you mentioned seems to be included in the CVS version of ac97_codec.c. But 
the problem with the KT3 was coming from the via 8233a chipset. Thanks to some updates 
commited during the last days, MSI KT3 and sound are now working fine for me. However, 
I notice some error in the logs (using xmms and oss emulation), like :
Jun  2 12:09:25 tootux kernel: ALSA ../alsa-kernel/core/pcm_lib.c:188: Unexpected 
hw_pointer value (stream = 0, delta: -1016, max jitter = 8192): wrong interrupt 
acknowledge?

Any idea ?
