Some explanations : I've got a Linux RedHat 7.1 (kernel 2.4.2-2) installed on a laptop MAXDATA. Everything is working fine except my sound card : a Yamaha DS-XG PCI (ymf744)
My kernel is compiled with the following sound options : CONFIG_SOUND=m / CONFIG_SOUND_YMFPCI=m I also compiled the alsa-driver-0.5.12a (with --with-card=ymfpci) and alsa-lib-0.5.10b and alsa-utils-0.5.10 /etc/modules.conf : alias snd-card-0 snd-card-ymfpci alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0 alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-3snd-pcm-oss alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss (I don't have any problem to modprobe those modules) Everything is recognized by my system : I've got the following message in /var/log/messages during the boot process : kernel PCI: enabling device 00:09.0 kernel PCI: Assigned IRQ 5 for device 00:09.0 So everything looks good but when I'm trying to use XMMS (or anything else like a CD player) I've got no sound at all. I tried to unmute my card via the amixer command but it doesn't changed anything and I've got no error message! What did I missed? Any help will be geratly appreciated :) Patrice _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
