Hi, I've sent this message several times before, and no-one has responded. Has it been overlooked, or is it an un-solvable problem? :)
I have a CS4235-based sound card (Aopen AW37 3D) and have successfully installed the alsa drivers. I can play sound and record (although the volume on the recording is terrible, and I don't have an Igain setting in anymore in the mixers), but when I try to play a midi, I get "No playback device found." I do have a sequencer entry in /dev: crw------- 1 ben root 14, 1 Aug 26 06:23 /dev/sequencer lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Aug 22 22:13 /dev/sequencer2 -> /dev/music Here's what my modules.conf file looks like: alias eth0 8139too alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc alias usb-controller usb-uhci alias char-major-116 snd options snd snd_major=116 snd_cards_limit=1 alias snd-card-0 snd-card-cs4236 options snd-card-cs4236 snd_index=0 snd_id="AW37" alias char-major-14 soundcore alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0 alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss I'm running Redhat 7.1 on a i586 with kernel 2.4.5-ac12. BTW, my sound card has one each line-out, line-in, and microphone jack. Are some of the entries in my modules.conf file unnecessary?
