I'd argue that ribbons are actually a lot more like switches than assets: - You either have one or you don't - You can't have multiple of a ribbon - You can't transfer ribbons They're obviously not a perfect fit for either, so you have to do a bit of shoehorning either way, but I think switches are a simpler mapping than assets are.
