I've considered doing that before, but I haven't found a way to do it
within 70 columns such that I'm happy with the legibility.

Beats me. I just inherited it that way from the previous Registrar.
I think an e-mail to them bounced at some point. *pokes through the
archives* Ah yes, on 30 Jul 05, then-Register OscarMeyr mass-invited
the watchers to register; the ones marked // bounced at that time.
