BTW, I think maybe Matt is talking about an Artificial Super Intelligence which
would encompass all human abilities/knowledge and I'm thinking about Artificial
General Intelligence, which is the intelligence/ability of an average human.
AGI as a concept is valid as applied to cave man as it is to modern man. Cave
man didn't have the skills/abilities of modern man necessarily but certainly
had similar potential compared to modern man, and the size of the economy back
then was a fraction of the trillions we have today.
AGI is a lower bar than ASI. An AGI could require massive computing power and
have the potential/abilities of a single average human (roughly IQ of 100), so
it would not immediately get us to the Singularity.
