Been banging on for years about EM field phenomena linking disparate
objects (in the brain) to each other. Here you have exactly this
phenomenon. The leakage fields of capacitors, and the inductance of wires
and PCB, all manner of garbage that we normally try and exclude ..... fed
by an electrochemical power supply you have to bash to get ions to flow! I
love it!. *You have field effects not included in the lumped-element model
you've literally built and hold in your hand.* The likelihood is that you,
too, are one of the field elements in the circuit. I wrote an article once:

Hales, C.G. (2011). Antennas in the Brain: The brain as its own EMC victim.
EMC Society of Australia Newsletter 53.

Of course, you've got quasi-static (not radiative) local/near-field EM
going on. --- perfect for attribution to brains. This is EXACTLY what I am
talking about is happening in the brain. Nature making use of what we see
as poorly performing circuit elements because it works. If you create a
'lumped-element compartmental model of a segment', and let all the shitty
'stray' fields and normally ignored EM phenomena a real functional role
instead of throwing them away..... VOILA actual signal processing as done
in the brain.

Thankyou for demonstrating it so vividly. You've taken a bunch of crappy
components badly configured and made it oscillate. The actual dynamical
system state space of the system is NOT the dynamical state space of the
model you think you hold in your hand.

Can I have a rough circuit diagram and a physical layout (the one that goes
weird and oscillates. I'll build my own version and see if I can replicate
it. Replication is king in science!

cheers
