So not a “new Coke” thing where they changed the formula?

Seems like “woke” is a made up word meaning “something I don’t like”.

It’s like I’ve never understood the people who complain that Disney or cruise
lines are inclusive of gay people. Do you realize the demographics of people
who patronize Disney parks and go on cruises?

In the case of beer, you are probably right in saying they misread the room.
If people drink your beer because of your manly, sports and horse oriented
advertising, maybe don’t try to expand your customer base with advertising that
will irk those people, even it irks them for silly reasons.

I suspect their sales decline was more due to Gens X And Z consuming less beer,
and beer drinkers migrating to craft beers.

When I was a kid and my dad watched sports, there were always beer commercials.
Like the Hamms bear. “From the land of sky blue waters.” “Hamms, the beer
refreshing.” Is Hamms even around any more? Or Pabst and Schlitz?

Fun fact on the power of advertising, Marlboro cigarettes were originally
advertised to women starting in the 1920’s. They pivoted to men in the 1950’s
with the Marlboro Man commercials. So was Marlboro originally “woke”?

People believe what they want to believe. How many Liberace or Freddy Mercury
or Elton John fans refused to believe they were gay?

This was the last successful ad campaign before they went woke:

I assume nobody drank Budweiser for the taste, so it must have been 100% the
power of image and advertising.

“This Bud’s for you.” Seriously, take it, I’m not going to drink that
dishwater. Or is it Clydesdale pee?

Not going to comment or offer opinion, but just to clarify the facts. My
recollection is the Budweiser boycott was in response to an advertising
partnership with Dylan Mulvaney.

Does the book cover how uneducated many bigots are in America? Does it explain
why some people on the right are scared of everything different? Does it
explain how a trans person drinking beer doesn't negatively affect any "normal"
beer drinker?

>From what I can gather, a trans person posted a Bud Light promotion/ad on
>their Instagram to attract younger customers then conservative snowflakes
>boycotted Bud Light? Is that the general consensus of why conservatives
>participated in cancel culture? I thought they were against cancel culture?

I understand ESG/DEI much better now. Odd business philosophy that took over
for a short period. Stakeholder vs Shareholder duty of care for corporate
governance. It all reverts back to Adam Smith and the Wealth of Nations.
Nothing new under the sun.
