Every time a party has control of the White House, Senate, and House and then DOESN'T do all of the things they say are so important to do, that means that everything they say is just a political football and that no one actually cares.

DACA kids (all adults now) have spent over half their life in limbo for political gain. There have been multiple opportunities to give them resident/citizen status, none of which were politically beneficial enough to do so. I cant imagine that life, being nothing but a political pawn, at least the one side is honest in what they want to do (kick them out) while the other side pats them on the back for photo ops then kicks them into the gutter. There are less photos of them now that theyre all grown adults and the pandering isnt beneficial without a kid in the picture. personal opinion is just take them all to the swearing in ceremony and be done with it, those that were gonna do harm already have and are out the rest are just some people, stuck. It never changes, one side talks about building walls while not really building much while the other side talks about tearing down the walls as they continue to build them. In the mean time, real people are stuck. Theres no reason for it to take 8-11 years to become a citizen, my grampa came through ellis island, they changed the spelling of his name to be dicks, and he was a citizen. Nobody has to jump a fence when theres a door open to the sign up booth. I come across a lot of "undocumented" in the trades, Most of them have no interest in citizenship, theyre here to make that coin and take it back where it has worth. What they're saying may not match what they do because some of them are simply opportunists rather than true believers. Ted Cruz would be one example (among many). Look at his positions before the 2016 election, and then look at things he says now. I don't think he's gotten more extreme, I just think he's saying things that he thinks a reliable voting block will like. I've also gotten a bit cynical about the whole thing. Thinking back, I can remember people talking about zillions of people crossing our southern border all the way back to my childhood (1980's). It's a great campaign issue that really motivates some voters, but if they actually did something to address it they would no longer have that great campaign issue so therefore they never will. Also, how many of those migrant farm hands take their pay and go back to Mexico at the end of the season? They can earn some dollars at less than minimum wage in the USA and then take those back to Mexico where they go farther due to lower living expenses. I know we've had an influx of refugees and asylum seekers in recent years, but I also suspect that a lot of the millions of border crossers every year are the same people over and over again. If we really had millions of people coming every year since I was a kid then Mexico would be empty by now. -Adam On Mon, Oct 7, 2024 at 8:55 AM Bill Prince < part15...@gmail.com > wrote: <blockquote> I call it the barbell curve.
