It was a fail because they announced the Osborne 2 before it was ready and
customers waited for it rather than buying the Osborne 1.---- Original Message

I so remember those ads, the guy carrying a suitcase computer
gets onto an elevator and up into a lot of light!? (as in gone to
heaven?)? That was a fail?? I knew several co-workers who bought
one.? Compaq came out with something similar and then TRS came out
with something a little better.? But for the time period these
were fantastic.? This was back when an IBM PC not the AT was still
going for $4k and no hard drive.

In our wisp we have several 900Mhz radios.? They work just fine
where 2ghz and 3ghz would not work and forget the 5ghz.? Hopefully
      they'll last another year.

Osborne Effect refers to one of the most
infamous marketing fails of all time.

        ?
Has Tarana done this by announcing the G2
while all they have shipping is the G1?
        ?
Or is the G2 so much more expensive that
it?s just for window shopping anyway?? I figure if these are
being bought with BEAD money, frugality may be out the window.
