They have license keys also.

I’m not sure exactly what the G2 does bigger/better/faster than the G1, or when
it is expected to be available, or what the price will be. I imagine it will
be more expensive.

It’s just that I’m not seeing Tarana APs on towers in my area even though
another WISP said that’s what they were going to deploy with their CAF II
money. I’m wondering if they went with LTE stuff, or are waiting for the G2.
In the case of BEAD projects, which probably won’t be funded and start
deployment until well into 2025, I would imagine WISPs might wait for the G2
depending on when it will be available and how much more expensive it is. Even
if the performance difference isn’t a big deal, would you want to be the guy
who bought a truck load of G1’s only to have the G2 start shipping a month
later? The other factor though is with most vendors you need to add 6 months
to whatever date they say and another 6 months for them to get the bugs out of
it.

The G1 is expensive enough, are people actually deploying these on a large
scale? The AP is pricey, but not necessarily a deal-breaker - those subscriber
units though...

Has Tarana done this by announcing the G2 while all they have shipping is the
G1?

Or is the G2 so much more expensive that it’s just for window shopping anyway?
I figure if these are being bought with BEAD money, frugality may be out the
window.
