Patently unfair law. So if a teenager steals the car and kills people
with the car, the owner is liable because the kid figured out how to
steal my car? A car can kill more people than a gun. BTW, isn't it
against the law to steal a car, break into a car, steal belongings,
steal guns? Why should the owner of the car be punished for a crime
committed by a thief? Every time I go to any government building I have
to leave the gun in the car as the government won't allow me to carry
inside their building. This law makes all parked cars near government
buildings a prime target for thieves looking for guns.

We need strict liability for gun owners. If you leave a gun in an
unlocked car and some kid steals it and accidentally shoots his buddy
you should be liable. All the special legal protections for being
stupid with guns need to go.
