It's my understanding active core alignment is only important if you're
doing pre 2010 fiber.

We have a clad alignment from Sumitomo and love it.  I think the whole kit
was $4k.  Make sure to get the clam shell cleaver, it's simply the best and
it's only like $200 more than the others.
