People vest too much emotional energy in the President, ignoring Congress which
is the one that should be doing the heavy lifting and has become a waste of
oxygen. Our legislative branch is totally useless except as a source of
partisan division.

It will be interesting to see if the bipartisan group working on a covid relief
bill accomplishes something. They are trying to be the adults in the room.
They are trying to their job. I think they expected to be part of a great
legislative body and instead found themselves in an embarrassing clown car.
Most observers would give them about 0% chance of success, maybe that is true,
but I wish them luck.

If I want to witness Americans bickering with other Americans I can look at any
Covid post or local tv channel post or any anti vaxer post or any political
post and see a bunch of snowflake crybabies from both sides trashing each
other. I’m pretty tired of it from both sides. Too me it seems like there is
so much division and both sides are so entrenched in their belief that the
other side is fabricating stories. Maybe at this point the only way to
coexist is as two separate countries. Honestly I don’t see either side
“getting over it”

There was a period of Lent that lasted for more than 3 years. But I think we

restrictions if we can. We can always invoke Lent again but I am hoping it
will not be needed.

My brothers are in the Trump camp. They thought he was a liar and an asshole,
but voted for him anyway because they've bought into the "Democrats are
communists" story. They're not crying as such, but they are experiencing an
undue amount of anger. It's not actually funny to poke at them. None of the
right-wing hate memes are funny either, but nobody is actually posting those on
this list.

We're all grown-assed adults here.
