It is important to realize that new organizations are businesses with owners
with their own agendas. Reporters now are more left or right wing activists
instead of journalists. They are there to make money and are hired and put into
a position because of their beliefs. They have ZERO moral authority and ZERO
incentive to be neutral or tell the truth. It is their job to spin things one
way or the other. It is their job to sensationalize news and provoke emotion
instead of logic.

The reality is people who want to wake up see this and have tried to create
alternatives or discuss on their own but now censorship has come into play.
Tech giants are trying to control narratives even if people believe or spread
crap, it is up to the individual to dismiss it or believe it. It isn't the job
of Facebook and Twitter to decide what is factual or not. They are trying to be
the moral authority for the people and that isn't flying right now. This is
authoritarian and it won't last

The rest of the masses just continue to eat it without any independent and or
critical thought because each channel has their own slanted view they are
presenting. So the people with little time accept from the television what to
believe.... and they believe it without any actual proof to their own senses!
(Like not actually being there or hearing first hand the truth)

Try and find a neutral news site out there that isn't heavily spinning the
news. The news should report what happens and let US decide for ourselves what
to think.

Also, I don’t think serious discussion and factual reporting are the same
thing. Serious discussion implies you want to hear both sides, which inevitably
will be a dumpster fire. Factual reporting however will be boring. Also, some
issues just don’t have “both sides”, they are just facts. But nobody wants
facts anymore, there are two sides to everything. Remember when SNL had
Point/Counterpoint? Jane, you ignorant slut!

WGN America’s NewsNation is pretty non-partisan, but it ends up being boring. I
predict it will go the way of Quibi.

And that’s the way it is, October 23, 2020.

I think serious discussion is not happening on cable news. Serious news is
boring. Boring doesn't sell advertising.

Tucker Carlson just made mean comments about an NBC reporter. NBC issued an
official statement that Tucker's a lying meanie pants. Is this the news or the
WWF?

I've been peaking haphazardly at a site called "The Factual". They're using an
algorithm to give articles a credibility grade. Almost every article is rated
between 60-80% credible. Occasionally you'll see one approaching 50% or 90%.
Should I be happy or sad that our news is generally 3/4 credible?

Shes the best moderator I've seen in my time watching debates. This was
amazing.

So after the fact I'm looking for punditry, switching between the big 3 (tiny 2
CNN MSNBC and max fox) and it's what I expect from each.

Where would I go if I want to watch some serious discussion?

Also I dont care who you are, joe is right on daca, and I wish nancy and chuck
hadn't brick walled trump on the same thing. It's time we stop using daca
humans and capital.
