100+ mile hops with island repeaters that don’t even have a place to land a boat. Not a great candidate for solar etc.

Can’t recall the details but I remember doing GIS work for the first ARRA award under the Obama stimulus and it was in Alaska. Rivada Networks rings a bell but I would have to go digging to be sure. There were a bunch of remote areas in the state and I think Satellite backhaul was the solution of choice. VSAT terminals I think.
