Interesting. I played D1 soccer in college and still play once and sometimes twice a week every week in organized adult leagues. That is not soccer. It sounds like Gaelic Football if it was in Ireland. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaelic_football

Never been big on soccer. Played a bit in HS just because I could get as rough as I wanted. That was the only draw for me.
But never delved deep into the rules.
Watching a TV show just now about some Irish kids playing their football. One of the kids carried the ball quite a ways in his hands and then punted it into the goal.
You can carry the ball in your hands?
