IBM installation will include some configuration of the library, but obviously not the SAN zoning, TSM configuration, etc.
"Burn-in" may not be the right phrase, but as Wanda said, there will be a long-ish period after the physical install of the library to exercise the accessor, etc., before handing the library off to the customer. For a 7-frame library, I'd imagine that could take a good day or more just letting it run. And despite the differences between a 3494 and a 3584, the basics of a multi-frame library with an accessor on a single track through the whole library haven't changed much. I'd expect the physical install of a 3584 of that size to take about as long as a 3494 of the same size. Check with your IBM installer for a better estimate of the total time for both physical install, initial configuration and exercising. =Dave Zoltan Forray wrote: > > As always, I keep saying thanks for your fount of knowledge/experience. > Sounds like there hasn't been a monumental change from the way the 3494 > works.
