Just add the "-a" flag to automatically install missing dependencies: $KERTEX_SHELL $KERTEX_LIBDIR/pkg/rc/latex.sh -a install (The only thing that doesn't work on Plan9 is the conversion of beamer's slides from dvi to PostScript because ghostscript is too old to understand transparency. Everything else not working is a bug or a missing recipe for some CTAN package.
